Steampede Kicks Off Season at Memorial Field May 5

Memorial Field to Host Stampede Games and Fireworks May 5

Military appreciation Sioux City Stampede, the local amateur football league, will begin their season with a Military Appreciation Day Saturday, May 5 at 4 p.m. at Memorial Field, their home field through August. Fireworks will follow the game. Stampede players helped Heelan High School with is move in late December.

The mission of the Stampede team is to provide Siouxland residents with a platform for amateur athletes to play competitive outdoor football, offer affordable entertainment in a family-oriented setting, and give back to the Siouxland community. Stampede began playing in 2014.

Stampede football home games at Memorial Field will be played at 4 p.m. on May 5, 12 and 19, June 15 and July 21.
