Science Camp for Grades 6-8 Offered at Heelan

A fun, four-day camp “Science Classic,” for students entering grade 6-8, will be held June 4-7 and July 9-12 at the new Bishop Heelan High School from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Teachers will offer activities in a fun and relaxed setting to explore chemistry, anatomy, physiology of the human brain, circulation and respiration and more. Each camp session is opened to the first 20 participants per grade level.

The camp is sponsored by the CNOS Foundation Stephen H. Noel, M.D. Memorial Fund to offer students hands-on experiences with microscopes, physics and anatomy/ physiology.

Offered in memory of the late Dr. Stephen Noel, an orthopedic surgeon who had practiced at CNOS, the camp is a one of a kind experience in Sioux City to introduce students to unique labs and activities. It is open to students at all schools.
