WHEN: JUNE 4 - JULY 31  (SUMMER BREAK JUNE 28 - JULY 8)
WHO:  7th - 12th GRADE  
     MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY 6:00-10:30AM ( 30 SESSIONS - TIMES ASSIGNED)
     3rd - 6th GRADE    
     TUESDAY AND THURSDAY 10:30-11:30AM  (Tue at Weight Room, Thurs. at Track)
WHERE:  BISHOP HEELAN WEIGHT ROOM, CYO AND TRACK 
COST:  $120 - 7th - 12th (T-Shirt included)

**This is ONLY a tentative schedule for 7th - 12th grades. Group times will be assigned week of May 28th.  Specific times depend on number of athletes and are subject to change.

  • 7:30am - 10th 11th & 12th Boys – Group Assigned
  • 8:00am - Varsity Baseball
  • 8:30am -  JV/Freshmen Baseball
  • 9:00am - 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Girls – Group Assigned
  • 9:30am - 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Girls – Group Assigned
  • 10:00am – 7th and 8th Girls
  • 10:30 - 11:30am - 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Graders Tue and Thursday Only

Important Dates and Times:

LIFT TESTING
May 21, 22, 23 After School -
 For Current 2017-18 Heelan Students in grades 9th – 12th only.

RUN TESTING 
For All Athletes Entering grades 9th - 12th in the Fall of 2018 will be last week of school. Exact date to be determined once semester testing schedule has been set. Most likely will be May 24th or 25th. Testing will take place at Memorial Field/Track.

Post Summer Run Testing will be July 31st at assigned group lifting times 

Program Notes:

  • Our summer staff will include our Strength coach, Athletic trainer and 3-5 qualified assistant coaches/interns
  • Athletes will lift in a safe, structured and discipline environment
  • Athletes will learn proper technique in a program designed to make them stronger, quicker, more explosive, more confident athletes

 Timeline of 7th – 12th grade sessions:

  • Start CYO gym for Thermogenics, General Mobility, Dynamic warm-up – 10-15 min.
  • Go to Wellness Center/Wt. Room for Power and Strength period – 40-50 min.
  • Go to CYO gym, Main gym or Memorial Field for Acceleration, Multi-Directional, Max Velocity period – 40-50 min.

Timeline of 3rd – 6th grade sessions:

  • Tuesdays start in CYO gym or weight room
  • Thursdays start at Memorial field
  • Each session lasts 1 hour
  • If bad weather Thursday session will be moved inside to CYO

Athlete Expectations:

  • Athletes are expected to show up on time. (5-10 min. early is highly suggested!!)
  • Athletes who are late will join the next group to warm-up (Groups start every 30 min.)
  • Athletes are expected to be coachable, show respect and follow instruction
  • We will provide our Best effort everyday and expect our Athletes to give us their Best effort everyday!
  • We ask athletes come ready to work including:
  •  1.       Eating a good breakfast
  •  2.       Getting a good night’s rest
  •  3.       Wear proper lifting attire - athletic shoes, shorts, t-shirt (No cutoffs) and socks
  •  4.       Coming hydrated – Our wt. room is warm, drink plenty of liquid before, during and after workouts. Bring your own water bottle!
