A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Siouxland Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Bishop Heelan High School officials will be held Monday, May 14 at 3 p.m. at the school’s new classroom addition.

Students and teachers moved into the $12 million addition in early January, the start of the second semester of classes. The addition – made up mostly of classrooms, a media center and science labs – attaches to Heelan’s student commons, chapel and fine arts areas which opened in 2014.

The new school is funded by generous donations from alumni, parents and friends of Bishop Heelan. It has replaced nearly a 70 year old building. Heelan enrolls a diverse body of some 500 students from the tri-state area.
