December 9 - 12, 2019


Monday, December 9:

  • PK-8th grade jeans day for the United Way of Siouxland. Students may give a free will offering and wear jeans and an appropriate shirt.  Students may not wear jeans with holes, jean shorts, hooded sweatshirts, or flip flops.  Money collected will be given to our local United Way of Siouxland to help support over two dozen local non-profit agencies. Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools was also able to assist many of these agencies on our Homecoming service day.  For more information on the organizations your donation will support visit unitedwayofsiouxland.com.

  • PTO meeting @ BS Center, 6:00 PM

Tuesday, December 10:

  • 6th- 8th grade Christmas band rehearsal @ Bishop Heelan, 9:00 AM. Band students must bring a sack lunch and a drink.

  • 2nd quarter progress reports posted in Infinite Campus parent portal

  • 6th – 8th grade Christmas band concert @ Bishop Heelan Fine Arts Building, 7:00 PM.  Band students must wear dress clothes and meet in the Heelan band room by 6:30 PM. Students may not wear jeans, sweatpants, leggings, short skirts, shorts, hooded sweatshirts, tank/sleeveless/spaghetti strap tops, t-shirts or short tops, or flip flops.  Please remember it is Bishop Heelan High School’s policy that no food, candy, gum, beverages, etc. be brought into the Fine Arts auditorium.  Also, remember to turn off cell phones and gaming devices during concerts.

Thursday, December 12:

  • BS Center Mass, 8:00 AM

*For our Advent service project we will be collecting items for the Warming Shelter. Items needed are: pre-packaged snacks, coffee, napkins, paper plates, disposable coffee cups, plastic forks and spoons, socks, gloves, hats, deodorant, disposable razors, combs, wash clothes and towels.  Please bring items to your homeroom now through December 20th.


*From the PTO: The Teacher Cookie Exchange will be Monday, December 16th.  Parents please bring one dozen homemade cookies, bars, or treats to either Holy Cross Center by dismissal time on December 16th.  This is a wonderful time to show how much we truly appreciate our Holy Cross teachers and staff.

*The students have been reading Advent prayers during PA prayer in the mornings.  If you would like a copy of the prayers to read with your children at night, please contact the school office.
