March 25 - 29, 2019

Monday, March 25:

  • PK-6th grade spring concert practice @ SM Church, PK-2nd 9:15 AM / 3rd-6th 10:15 AM

  • The last K-12th grade BHCS registration event @ Bishop Heelan High School, 3:00-8:00 PM.  Please attend if you need assistance with the online registration or the financial assistance application. There will be staff on hand to provide assistance in English or Spanish.  The deadline to apply for financial assistance and to complete the online registration is April 1st.  Completing the registration in a timely manner helps with teacher contracts and planning.  If you have questions, please contact Jenny Pattee at 226-0416 or Yvette Sitzmann @ 226-0420.

Tuesday, March 26:

  • PK-6th grade Spring Vocal Concert @ St. Michael Church, 9:30 AM & 6:00 PM.  Pk-6th grade students may wear dress clothes to school.  Jeans, sweatpants, leggings, short skirts, shorts, hooded sweatshirts, tank/sleeveless/spaghetti strap tops, t-shirts, short tops, or flip flops may not be worn. 

Wednesday, March 27:

  • SM Center Mass, 8:30 AM

  • 4th grade visits the SC Museum, 9:15 AM

Thursday, March 28:

  • BS Center Mass, 8:00 AM

  • PTO collections turn in.  Please turn in Box Tops, HyVee receipts, and Coke codes by this date.  Special request for the HyVee receipts to be turned in ASAP as there is only one more month left of the program for this school year.

Friday, March 29:

  • 6th grade Math Bee @ AEA, 8:15 AM

  • 5th grade Body Science class, 12:25 PM.  Parents are welcome to attend.

*Students in grades 3-8 will be taking the ISASP (Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress) tests during the weeks of April 1st and April 8th.

Upcoming events:

  • April 3rd - The annual BHCS service project “Then Feed Just One” for the poor in Honduras at Bishop Heelan gym from 7:30 AM – 3:10 PM.  Every student in grades 5-12 is asked to donate $20 to cover food to make the meals and transportation costs to ship the meals.  If you would like to donate money to cover the cost of a student in need, please send it to and/or contact Fr. Deman at Bishop Heelan 252-0573.  Adults who want to work at the packing event are asked to donate $20.   • April 11th – 7th & 8th grade BHCS Spring Vocal Concert @ Eppley Auditorium, 6:30 PM
  • April 14th – “I Thirst: The Crucifixion Story” performed by Tatiana Cameron @ Holy Cross Parish – St. Michael Church, 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:00 PM). All faiths and ages are welcome to attend.  Free admission – donations appreciated.
