Chair Couples Lead Heelan Masters Auction

Jensens, Blocks, Hegartys and Uhls Chair April 6 Auction

The Heelan Auction is led by four excellent couple who represent the four schools of the Bishop Heelan School system. The couples this year are:

Dave ’88 and Gina Jensen, Mater Dei School
Families know Gina as the always cheerful and professional second grade teacher at Mater Dei Immaculate Conception School where she has taught for 17 years. Dave is the revenue cycle director of Dunes Surgical Hospital and was treasurer for the past two Heelan “After Prom” Parties. The couple met at Briar Cliff. Their daughter, Annie, a 2018 Heelan grad, attends Creighton and son, Jack, is in 7th grade at Mater Dei.
 
Dr. Craig and Terri Block, Sacred Heart School
Dr. Craig Block is a urologist at Siouxland Urological Associates and Terri, a former mortician at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, is now a busy volunteer for Heelan and Sacred Heart. High school sweethearts from Sibley, Iowa, they are the parents of Cade, a junior; Sophia, grade 8; Landon, grade 6; and twins Kellen and Jude, grade 1. The Blocks are hosting the “Birdie, Bogie Block Par-tee” sign-up party Friday, July 12 at their home in Dakota Dunes.
 
Ben ‘95 and Sarah Uhl, Heelan High School
Ben is an optometrist and owner of Sergeant Bluff Eyecare. Between optometry school and Iowa State (where he met Sarah) he spent four years in the US Army. He wasdeployed in support of Iraqi freedom and in the U.S. Army Reserve he was deployed as an optometrist to troops in Afghanistan.  He now serves in the Air Guard. Sarah is a Principal at Deloitte Tax LLP.  Ben and Sarah have Andrew, grade 7; Elise, grade 3; and Lilian grade 1 at Mater Dei. They are hosting “The Eyes Have It” sign-up party July 27 at their home in Morningside.
 
Nick ’96 and Amber  Hegarty, ’94 Holy Cross School
Nick is president of Primebank in Sioux City, has served on many boards and currently serves on the marketing committee for BHCS. He and Amber (Ellerbroek) met at Morningside College. Amber is an assistant city attorney for the City of Sioux City and makes sure our event is legal. Nick and Amber are the parents of Grant, a freshman at Heelan and Benjamin, a 7th grader at Holy Cross. The Hegartys are hosting the “Saturday Near the Park” sign-up party Saturday, July 6 at their home in the Heights in Sioux City.
