Welcoming New Students to Heelan

Discover Heelan Events are Feb 8-10
Posted on 01/08/2021
Students planning to enter Bishop Heelan High School for the 2021-22 school year can attend one of three “Discover Heelan” Nights set for Feb. 8, 9 and 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Bishop Heelan High School.

Current BHCS eighth graders are encouraged join classmates on their school night, but are welcome to switch to another date: Feb 8 - Holy Cross, Feb 9 - Sacred Heart and St. Michael South Sioux City and Feb 10 - Mater Dei and St. Augustine.

Students coming from outside of the BHCS system are welcome to attend at any time.

The separate “Discover Heelan” nights will decrease the large number of people who attend and ensure a safer gathering, according to Laurie Dougherty, enrollment director.

The evening will feature school tours and a program in the Fine Arts Auditorium where Heelan Principal Christian Bork and directors address academics, sports, student clubs, faith activities, college prep and more.

Students will receive Heelan swag and information and be invited to register for classes with Heelan staff Feb. 15 or 18. Refreshments will be served and Spanish interpreters will be onsite.

To learn more or set a separate date with the BHCS admin office, contact laurie.dougherty@bishopheelan.org or Ph 252-1350.
